3 Days Old - 1st Day Home
As you might have guessed, this mama was THRILLED to be leaving the hospital. It was pretty obnoxious, trying to sleep in that place, so the thought of coming home was heaven. Plus, it would just be a lot easier and more comfortable to take care our our precious little angel in our own abode.
Our little girl wasn't a fan of the car seat at first, but thankfully she ended up conked out.
Once we got home, we swaddled her up and let her hang out in the bouncy seat while we got settled. Mommy had a hard time not taking pictures of her 24/7, though ;) Check out that adorable face and beautiful tiny feet!
My milk came in shortly after we got home, and as the lactation suggested, I decided to pump. I was pretty pleased with my yield, considering the tiny size of our baby girl's tummy!
Dexter discovered that a vibrating chair was the best thing ever. Any time we picked up Amelie, he moved in to steal her spot ;)
Since I was still pretty sore from the c-section, it became apparent that I would not be returning to the comfort of my own bed any time soon. Laying flat was pretty impossible, and even getting the perfect pillow palace going on wasn't going to work because getting up was painful. Good thing we have a couch w/ recliners on each end! I posted up shop there and we made a little changing area next to me with all the essentials. Diapers, wipes, my meds, a big jug of water (Thanks, KC!), a burp cloth, change of Onesie for Amelie, my feeding/diaper log, and (very important here) the remote for the air conditioning were all within reach so I wouldn't have to keep getting up and down while KC was at work overnight.
I just love this little face!!! I could sit and take pictures of her all day and night. It's amazing to me how quickly she changes her expression, especially after a meal :)
Aaaand, she's out!

4 Days Old
Since Amelie had a little bit of jaundice, we were instructed to take her to our family doctor as soon as possible. We weren't even home 24 hours before we packed her back up and headed out!
Napping with Daddy while Mommy got ready to go.
Getting measured
20.5 inches?? That's a big leap from 18 only 4 days ago ;)
Not sure about this naked business...
Reeeally not a fan!
Getting the ears checked out
Nose looks good!
Checking out her little heart <3
Sleepy Papa
Teeny little Onesie!
Our gear
My furry little bean!
Hangin' out with Daddy
Winking at Daddy
Cutest double chin ever ;)
Such a tiny little bundle of love!
After we took our angel to get her heel poked (she took it like a champ!), we came home to find Grandpa, Uncle Chuck, & Cousin Dom waiting for us!
Dom was all over the place! He wanted to check everything out...
I finally got him occupied with some markers.
(Let me tell you, getting down on the floor after a c-section is no joke!)
After I drew about 5,000 hearts for Dom, KC had an idea.
He was a little hesitant at first (I can bang on this?)...
...but then got the hang of it :)

Grandpa & Amelie :)
Cousins!
Stretching out
After a busy day (at least for someone who just had major surgery!), I somehow still had some energy to finally put away
the rest of Amelie's clean clothes (with KC's help, of course). With
the induction catching me by surprise, I hadn't officially finished with
the nesting, so it was nice to finally feel like the nursery was ready
for her. Even if she might not actually be using the room any time soon ;)
Her bulletin board of memorabilia yet to make it to the baby book.
Most of this doesn't even fit her yet ;)
3+ month clothes
Newborn & 0-3mo outfits that don't fit yet!
3-6 month outfits.
bigger sizes...
The kitties had to check everything out...
Dexter loves the rug!
And he also loves the changing pad.
My sleep spot on the left...not that I sleep much anyway these days ;)
